Boxborough, MA – September 2008 — Artel Video Systems, a leading provider of video over fiber optics transport equipment, announces the release of two new modules for the DL4000 Digital Video Transport System, the DLC170AD and the DLC170DA.
The DLC170AD converts Composite NTSC or PAL analog video and baseband audio to SDI (SMPTE 259M), while the DLC170DA converts SDI (SMPTE 259M) to Composite NTSC or PAL analog video and baseband audio. Both modules use industry standard optics SFP’s of 1310nm, 1550nm, CWDM or DWDM wavelengths with an optical budget of 36dB. Used as a pair the modules insure optical transport exceeding TV-1 RS250-C “Short Haul” specifications.
Along with the Spring 2008 release of the DLC150E, DLC200, DLC100T, and DLM130, the release of these two modules significantly expands capabilities of the DL4000 Video Transport System. The DLC150E embeds Analog or AES Audio into an SDI video stream in addition to optical transport of all 270Mb/s services. The DLC200 is a 10/100/1000 Ethernet optical transceiver module. The DLC100T is a cost-effective DWDM optical transport module for all digital video services including HD-SDI, SDI, DVB-ASI or ATSC HD-TV while DLM130 provides monitoring and provisioning capabilities to the DL4000 chassis via an innovative SNMP and Web based management module with integrated power supply. All these modules will be on display at IBC in Amsterdam, September 12 -16, Stand Number 3.A44.
The DL4000 is a new generation, universal video transport system designed specifically for video backhaul and contribution applications. A small, rugged, modular chassis, the DL4000 combines the space efficiency of a 1RU chassis with the flexibility of multi-module systems. The platform features four hot-swappable function modules and dual hot-swappable power supplies in a single rack unit.
“2008 has been a great year for the DL4000 Video Transport System. We have received product approval from our major customers, acceptance of the platform has been high, and the release of new function modules has exceeded our most optimistic expectations,” said Richard Dellacanonica, President of Artel Video Systems. “With the development of the DL4000, and our continued support of DigiLink, DV6000 and MegaWav products, Artel continues our long term commitment to, and focus on, broadcast quality video over fiber transport systems.”
